Note: while this post itself is SFW, one of the games featured is R-18 so its website is NSFW.
It’s October which means Halloween but the only scare this month is the fact that literally every game is a spin-off, fandisc or port! That aside, there’s still some interesting games but it’s a shame that there’s nothing halloween-themed…
Yuukyuu no Tierblade -Fragments of Memory-
Original Title: 悠久のティアブレイド -Fragments of Memory-
Release Date: 5th October 2017
Developer: Otomate
Platform: PS Vita
Age Rating: Cero B (12+)
Official Website
This is a fandisc to the 2016 game “Yuukyuu no Tierblade -Lost Chronicle-” consisting of three parts:
- Eclipse – an episode set after the true ending of the original game, chronicling the final tierblade battle. This section introduces two new sub-characters: Elision & Dezoid.
- Future – this part features after-stories continuing from the happy endings in the original game. There are 6 in total: Sud, Atharva, Yajur, Row & one for each version of Cradle.
- Fragment – this section contains short stories that take place both in the past and present, with many from the perspective of the sub-characters. This is designed to give the reader a better understanding of the timeline of the game and a deeper insight into all of the characters.
The fragments section definitely sounds as though it’s pandering to us players that are thirsty for more Gil/onii-chan (he even came second in the character poll, lol) but I’ll happily take it! I’m very much looking forward to this game & have my stellaworth set already pre-ordered. Hopefully its as enjoyable as the original game was!
Yoshiwara Higanbana Kuon no Chigiri
Original Title: 吉原彼岸花 久遠の契り
Release Date: 12th October 2017
Developer: MariaCrown & Prototype
Platform: PS Vita
Age Rating: Cero D (17+)
Official Website
This is the PS Vita port of the 2015 R-18 PC game “Yoshiwara Higanbana”. There are a couple of new features:
- New scenario episodes and CGs for all of the main characters.
- A route for sub-character Tatsukichi.
The game is set in the Edo period and follows the story of Rin, a girl working as a courtesan in the high-end brothel “Oukaya” under the name of Chihaya in order to earn enough money to travel back to her homeland. Despite the unsavoury nature of her job, Chihaya takes great pride in her work and is happy with her life. That is, until she learns what “true love” feels like…
I was actually quite interested in this game when the port was first announced as it seems to have a decent heroine and an unusual setting. However, the only character I’m really interested in is stoic hairdresser Sakuya so I’ll probably pass on this one for now~
Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Amazing Aria & Sweet Serenade LOVE

This is the combined PS Vita port of the two Utapri fandiscs: Amazing Aria & Sweet Serenade. The fandiscs start off one year after the protagonist and her partner graduate from Saotome Academy and start working as professionals. The game has a few new additional features:
- Three completely new songs that can be played in the music mini-game
- Three new routes featuring groups of the characters working with the protagonist to come up with a new song.
- 30 new fully voiced side-stories
- Over 30 new CGs
- The sprites from the PSP versions will be touched up
- The system will be overhauled and made more streamlined
Also, if you use your save data from the port of the original game “Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Repeat LOVE” then you get access to a special side story titled “Magical Ichigo Returns!” where the main cast turn into magical girls?! You also become able to unlock the song “Welcome to UTA☆PRI RAINBOW world!!” in the music mini-game.
The original game was super fun so I’m quite excited about this, although I’m debating with myself over whether or not the music CD is enough of a reason to buy the “Premium Princess Box”…
Steam Prison -Nanatsu no Bitoku-
Original Title: スチームプリズン -七つの美徳-
Release Date: 26th October 2017
Developer: HuneX & Dramatic Create
Platform: PS Vita
Age Rating: Cero D (17+)
Official Website
This is the PS Vita port of the 2016 PC game “Steam Prison”, which came about due to a successful crowd-funding campaign earlier this year. It will add in:
- A route for sub-character Fin
- New CGs and scenario episodes for the main characters
- Added lip-sync and blinking for the character sprites
- A new opening theme song & movie
For those unfamiliar with the original, the story is set in a world divided in two: the “Upper World”, filled with riches and privilege and the “Underworld”, a place looked down upon and considered to be a unruly place filled with criminals. The protagonist of this game, Cyrus, is a police officer whom was raised in the Upper World and has a great dislike of the Underworld. However, she and her partner Fin are sent to the Underworld as part of an investigation and there, the gears of fate begin to turn…
While the heroine sounds great and I do like the setting, I had little interest in this until I saw the shop bonuses – they’re all so cute! I assume Ulrik must’ve been a fan favourite in the original game? The only thing putting me off is the fact that I’ve not seen many comments on/reviews of the original game so maybe it’s not that great?
Gakuen Rensenki
Original Title: 学園恋戦記
Release Date: 27th October 2017
Developer: Daisy2
Platform: PC
Age Rating: “All-ages”
Official Website
This is a comedic spin-off of daisy2’s “rensenki” series, based off of a bonus drama CD packaged with the fandisc. It features the main game’s cast re-imagined as middle school & high school students attending “Sangoku Gakuen”.
There’s really not much information on this release so I apologise – the official website isn’t even up yet! And while there was a very small section on the game in October’s Dengeki Girl’s Style, there wasn’t any new info.
Koezaru wa Akai Hana ~Itoshiki Hibi wa Mune ni Tsudoite~
Original Title: 越えざるは紅い花~愛しき日々は胸に集いて~
Release Date: 31st October 2017Company: Operatta Due
Platform: PC
Age Rating: 18+
Official Website
This is a repackaged version of the original Koezaru wa Akai Hana game to celebrate the series’ 5th anniversary. This version adds in:
- A route for Uru (which has no R-18 scenes)
- Esta’s route from the console ports + R-18 scenes for him
- A R-18 scene for Ruji’s bad ending
- After stories for all 8 main characters (including more R-18 scenes)
- A total of 25 new CGs
Please note, this version doesn’t contain Jigi’s route from the console ports.
To be honest, the addition of an Uru route seems a bit random but I suppose it’s nice to know that a company still cares about its older games? I think I’d rather just play the PS Vita version at some point though.
My Picks for the Month:
- Yuukyuu no Tierblade -Fragments of Memory-
- Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Amazing Aria & Sweet Serenade LOVE
- Steam Prison -Nanatsu no Bitoku-
And that’s us for another month, at least there should be some “new” games next month, yay!
Thanks for reading, as always! 🙂
