[Unboxing] March 2019

Oh look, another post highlighting my lack of self-control! Oh well, at least I managed to get this out only one month late, haha. Welcome to another unboxing! ヽ(*⌒∇⌒*)ノ

First up is the Harukanaru Toki no Naka De 6 DX Treasure Box (wow, that’s a tongue-twister!). I ordered this back in December to ensure I received the bonus epilogue DLC but there was actually an issue with my order & I never received the code which led to me nervously emailing Amazon JP who helpfully sorted my order out after 2 weeks  – neither me, nor the customer advisor understood why my code wasn’t shipped with my game but he was very apologetic & I’ve redeemed the code safely so it’s okay! (゚ω゚;)

Anyways, onto the game itself & this box is HUGE – like literally bigger than A4 size, as you can probably tell by the first image on my post. This set came with the game, drama CD, calendar, set of 10 keychains & a signed A4 art print. For some reason I thought the art print was going to be an artbook (I probably didn’t read the description properly aha). I mainly bought this for the keychains & they’re ADORABLE so I’m pretty satisfied with this set. This will actually be my first Koei game when I eventually get around to playing it…

Next is the DVD for the 2nd lot of Ensemble Stars Dream Lives (the ones with 3D models of the characters performing). I have the first DVD & loved it so have had this pre-ordered for months. As of the time when I’m writing this post, I’ve watched the concert DVD 3 times – it’s generally an improvement over the first concert & I love both 2wink & Akatsuki’s performances. o(〃^▽^〃)o
The MC sections are also an improvement in this iteration. There are some overlap in songs but those songs are some of my favourites (SILENT OATH (●♡∀♡) ) so I don’t mind! The booklet is pretty much the same as the original – set list, unit introduction, some stills from the performances & lyrics to all the songs. Now I just need to pray that they release DVDs for the 3rd round of concerts because I need to see Switch!

Here we have the Black Wolves Saga novel – Yukiakari no Felix. I was really excited about this from the moment it was released so jumped at the chance to pre-order it from Stellaworth a few months ago. It came with an acrylic panel, bromide & badge of Fiona all featuring the same pretty cover illustration by Kuroyuki. I was really intrigued about the title of this book since one of the game’s OST tracks features a song called “Yuki no Naka no Felix”. Anyways, I think this book is probably a spin-off of Rath’s route from Last Hope judging by the information released but I haven’t had a chance to read it yet. It’s worth noting that this is a pure novel & not a light novel with illustrations included. I might post a review/summary of this if I like it enough~

First batch of galge that I picked up cheaply. I’ve wanted Astralair for a long time, ironic that I finally bought it after winter has ended though, haha. The other two were impulse purchases but I hope they’re decent!

Second lot of galge & these two are more interesting – Monobeno has such nice artwork (that CG at the top of the back cover!), I love the OP song & the story sounds interesting. I’ve heard great things about Hoshiori but had never seen it for sale at a reasonable price so when I saw this I had to buy, I believe it’s catered towards fans of charage/moege so I should enjoy it.

These two games are at opposite ends of the VN spectrum (1 is BL, the other yurige) but figured that I’d put them together. I’m looking forward to playing them both & have been after them for a while, Katahane especially since I’ve always been a fan of Fue’s “soft” artwork.

Wow, did you really think I wouldn’t buy any random otoge? I literally bought Kaeru Batake like less than a week before the switch port was announced, what impeccable timing! ∑(゚∇゚|||) I hated the other A’s ring game I’ve played but Orfleurs has Suzuki Yuuto in it so it was a need. I also hated Ozmafia when I played it back in like 2013 but I remember liking some of the characters ( + Satoi artwork yum) so I figured that it would be fun to replay it and see how my tastes have gotten trashier have changed!

In another bout of nostalgia, I stumbled across the 3 Starry Sky ports that I was missing so I ended up snagging them, partly in fear that with honeybee’s transfer of head company the games might become really hard to find (i.e. Quinrose games). Anyways, I’m so hyped to replay these games that as soon as I finish DL Chaos Lineage & Lovely Quest I might play the four games in succession. It’ll be interesting to see if Naoshi & Tsubasa remain my favourites~

Finally, we have the Diabolik Lovers Chaos Lineage Stellaworth Set. It’s pretty huge since they know the only people still playing the games are hard-core fans (or just adore 1+ character(s) too much (˶′◡‵˶) ).

The set came with a drama CD featuring Yuma, Kou, Carla & Shin; an A4 clear file, bromide & short story book (all with the same illustration). The book has 3 separate short stories each featuring one of the “houses” in the game. It also comes with 13 keychains/stands & 16 badges.

LOOK AT HOW HECKING CUTE AZUSA IS! THIS IS (mainly) WHY I BOUGHT THIS SET & I DO NOT REGRET. +。:.゚ヽ(´∀`。)ノ゚.:。+゚゚

The game itself comes in Otomate’s standard box, except is a little wider since the LE bonuses are 3 drama CDs in one giant box – I’ve shown a width comparison with Cendrilon Palika in the slides above. The box art is nice (wow is that Kanato on a LE cover for once?) & I look forward to listening to the CDs, it’s kind of weird not to get a booklet though, haha.

Wow, even though I tried to keep this short, I ended up rambling for over 1k words yet again, sorry! Anyways, this post was smaller than usual because I had ordered a few CDs together but one was delayed until April so I just figured I’d wait an extra month and not bother splitting the order.

Unless I feel energetic & do an April post, this will also be my last unboxing post for a while since my backlog is officially over 100 titles (not even counting the non-VN games I have or the cheap games I bought in Steam sales)  so I won’t be buying any more games for a couple of months (until July at the earliest). The same goes for drama CDs – I plan to buy Azusa’s new CD in July but aside from that, there’s nothing that I want so badly that I need to pre-order it.

Thanks for reading! 🙂

Hot damn there’s so much!!! I love looking at unboxing posts haha it’s so satisfying for me to look at all those things lined up. I think I might be a little bit weird ^q^ seeing unboxing posts always makes me wanna go out and buy games though which is very bad for my wallet LOL…. That Haruka 6 box is huge! The Koei Haruka treasure boxes are always gigantic if I recall correctly. I’ve heard people say Haruka 6 is quite different from previous Haruka games. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing haha will you be posting a review on the Haruka game? If so, I’m looking forward to it!

      I’m so so sorry for the late reply! ;u;
Ah, thank you so much I really enjoy doing unboxing posts but sometimes I don’t realise how much I’ve bought until I start writing them (haha).
Oh yeah I’ve heard that Koei’s 30k yen LEs are massive but I wasn’t expecting the “normal” LE to be so big 😮
I’m totally new to the Haruka series so I won’t be able to say how different 6 is from the other games but I do plan on reviewing it (eventually ^_^;;;;). It seems pretty long so I’m going to wait until I have like a week or two off from work so I have time to finish it~

  2. Amy xD omg girl. I wish I had the money to splurge like that! Do you think Treasure Boxes are worth the cost? I love the idea of them but their prices always have me dragging myself toward a freshly dug grave. I had no idea BWS had a novel. Please lemme know if it’s any good! If it helps regarding changing tastes with otoge, I loathed Ozmafia! too but really enjoyed Steam Prison, so there’s hope!

      Leaf! It’s been a while – hope you’re doing well! 🙂
Haha, I haven’t splurged like this in a while – definitely fun but not good for the bank account~
The Treasure Box in this case was worth it for me because I LOVE the keychains & in comparison to “normal” limited editions it felt like a good amount of stuff for the extra price. These expensive boxes do normally end up on sale at some point though so it might be worth waiting it out if you don’t want the pre-order bonus stuff though. Honestly, the 30k yen boxes that Koei (& sometime Broccoli) put out even make me wince – what a price for 1 game!

Ewww, not glad to hear that about Ozmafia! I was hoping that the new content in the vita port may be an improvement but it’s probably only like 1 new cg per character so my hopes aren’t high… Thank you for the recommendation – Steam Prison is definitely on my “to buy eventually” list! 😀
